Lease Law & Real Estate
Marjolein has been practising as a lawyer since 1999 and specialises in real estate law, with a strong focus on lease law and litigation. She advises and represents clients in a wide range of lease law matters involving both commercial and residential property. Her practice also regularly covers real estate-related matters and general civil law issues.
Flexible Legal Support
Marjolein works with Law&Pepper Advocaten as an interim lawyer, providing flexible support to the team. With many years of experience, she is able to step in quickly whenever additional legal capacity is required, for example during large-scale projects, periods of increased workload or unexpected absences.
Career
Marjolein studied law at Leiden University. During her studies, she gained practical legal experience as a court clerk at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal and as a legal assistant at a law firm in Rotterdam.
After being admitted to the Dutch Bar in 1999, she worked at several law firms, including De Clercq Advocaten in Leiden and Boekel de Nerée (now Dentons) in Amsterdam, where she further developed her expertise in real estate and lease law. After practising independently for several years, she established her own law firm in Haarlem in 2012.
Publications & Teaching
Marjolein has published various articles in professional legal journals and was a co-author of the Handboek Registergoederenrecht for many years. She also has extensive experience providing training and courses to entrepreneurs and legal professionals, including on lease law.
Register of Practice Areas
In the register of practice areas of the Netherlands Bar Association, Marjolein has registered in the area of lease law, including commercial lease law. This registration requires her to undertake continuing professional education each year and obtain the required professional development credits in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Bar.
